Frances Dennehy (Nora’s neice), her husband James and their friend Liana are carrying on Peter’s fundraising legacy by cycling around the Isle of Wight next weekend – 3rd-4th May 2014.
Peter’s dedication to raising funds for WOMA shows what one person can do.The £12,000 he raised over the past few years has enabled us to train around 35 women in Uganda.
Please show your support to Frances, James and Liana and donate to this great cause. Visit their Justgiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/Fran-James-Liana-cyclethewight
To all our WOMA friends
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the death of one of our biggest supporters and friends – Peter Brook. As many of you will know, Peter was Nora’s beloved husband who was with WOMA from the start and who single-handedly raised more than £12,000 for WOMA through various sponsorship events. He had been battling illness for the past two and a half years and did so with great dignity and at times, humour. Many of us will smile as we remember Peter as the chap who would invariably be spotted on his bicycle preparing to undergo yet another endurance test, or mingling with guests, cracking a joke and taking photographs at one of our numerous WOMA fundraising events. We owe him a huge debt of gratitude and he will be dearly missed.
Peter leaves behind two wonderful children Harrison and Hannah and his wife, soul-mate and best friend Nora Dennehy who we extend our deepest love and sympathies to at this difficult time.
The attached photograph captures one of those magical WOMA moments with Peter, Nora and Hannah at one of our recent gigs.
